Honduras USFS International Programs GreenWood trains artisan woodworkersand sawyers in Honduras to make high-quality wood products from legal, well-managed forests. We help provide appropriate tools and provide technical instruction in their efficient operation. In implementing our project activities, we collaborate closely with our local nonprofit Honduran partner, Fundacion Madera Verde, which provides forest management training, support and oversight.

Puerto Rico USFSWood Innovations Project GreenWood created a unique Artisan EcoTour program in Puerto Rico, combining high-level, professional woodworking instruction with a guided ecotour experience. The primary objective is to strengthen awareness of the challenges and opportunities to maintain well-managed forests and connect sustainably harvested and salvaged forest resources to markets for those wood products. The Artisan EcoTour program also aims to contribute to the Puerto Rican economy and strengthen local artisan wood production and market opportunities.
