CAMP TEN TREES

Camp Ten Trees successfully ran three distinct camp programs. Youth Week served 82 youth ages 8 to 13. Campers engaged in positive developmental activities such as art, swimming, boating, music, hiking, and more. These activities instill self-confidence, support community connections, and help connect youth to the natural environment. All campers also participated in an age-appropriate social justice curriculum that teaches self-advocacy, compassion for others, and civic mindedness. Teen Week served 100 youth ages 13 to 17. Teens engaged in positive developmental activities such as art, swimming, boating, music, hiking, and more. They also had the option to participate in guided discussion groups based on their personal identities and experiences. These activities instill self-confidence, support community connections, help connect teens to the natural environment, and grow skills in emotional regulation, effective communication, and more. Teens also participated in an age-appropriate social justice curriculum that teaches self- advocacy, compassion for those different than themselves, civic mindedness, and a deeper understanding of systematic oppression and privilege. The LEADs program (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Development) served 12 youth ages 16-17. These campers spent two weeks focusing on developing their individual leadership skills. Through workshops and guided projects, they studied public speaking, effective feedback, and more. Camp Ten Trees hired 110 volunteers to run these programs. Every program included a full medical team and a full mental and behavioral health team, all staffed with licensed and experienced individuals in those fields.
