THE NEW HAMPSHIRE OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION (NHOA) IS THE PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION REPRESENTING THE VAST MAJORITY OF NEW HAMPSHIRES PRACTICING DOCTORS OF OPTOMETRY. WE WERE FOUNDED OVER 110 YEARS AGO AND HAVE SERVED OUR MEMBERS AND THE CITIZENS OF NEW HAMPSHIRE ALL THE YEARS OF OUR EXISTENCE. WE ARE AFFILIATED WITH THE AMERICAN OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION. THE NHOA IS A MEMBERSHIP-GOVERNED ORGANIZATION WHICH OPERATES UNDER A SET OF BYLAWS APPROVED BY THE MEMBERS. A BOARD OF DIRECTORS LEADS THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN OUR QUARTERLY MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS. WE RETAIN THE SERVICES OF AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO CONDUCT THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF THE ASSOCIATION, AND SINCE OPTOMETRY IS (AND ALWAYS WILL BE) A PROFESSION CONTROLLED BY THE LEGISLATURE AND THE ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCIES, WE RETAIN A GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS FIRM TO GUIDE US THROUGH OUR INVOLVEMENT WITH THESE FUNCTIONS. OUR MOST VISIBLE ACTIVITY IS PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) FOR ALL NEW HAMPSHIRE OPTOMETRISTS, BUT BEHIND THE SCEN
