Permanently conserved forestlands primarily utilizing conservation easements; monitored and enforced the terms of the conservation easements for which FSM is responsible; worked with forestland owners and communities to discuss and plan future conservation projects. Worked with community members on efforts to inform others of the importance of maintaining sustainably managed forests to mitigate the effects of climate change. Specifically, FSM worked on two family conservation projects to move them closer toward completion and began to work collaboratively with three partners to undertake one very significant conservation project to conserve 78,000 acres in western Maine. All of these conservation efforts support maintaining the significant cultural, ecological, economic, and recreational resources of Maine's forestlands.
