North America: In 2024, the ONE Action team was integral to the success of US 2024 campaigns, working behind the scenes to foster bipartisan relationships and advocate for ONE's key priorities. The team provided crucial resources on PEPFAR's impact and strategies for five-year reauthorization to Congressional staff and organized private meetings for ONE's CEO with key Congressional members, including Senator Chris Coons and Congresswoman Barbara Lee.ONE also hosted multiple convenings, including a congressional briefing on African economic development with panelists representing the World Bank, Prosper Africa, USAID, and the DFC. (See Schedule O)In the lead-up to and following the 2024 US elections, ONE focused on congressional outreach to build new champions in the House and Senate. We engaged bipartisan candidates in open Senate races by publishing a briefing book on U.S. foreign assistance programs, which was sent to all Senate candidates. After the election, our US advocacy team created a briefing book for new members of the 119th Congress, adapted from our Senate candidate resource. This book introduces ONE, outlines legislative priorities, and provides messaging guidance.Through high-level engagement and strategic policy advocacy, ONE Action delivers the political influence needed to advance ONE's mission and help drive lasting progress toward economic opportunity and healthier lives across Africa.

Europe: In the EU, we advanced our priorities with ONE Vote EU, securing 70+ political champions and mobilizing support through our EU Advocacy Days. In 2024, ONE France campaigned to strengthen the Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) to offset ODA cuts, culminating in October Advocacy Days where the team met with 10 key MPs or assistants to rally support for reversing cuts and saving the Solidarity Development Fund.In Germany, ONE's 2024 campaign focused on the Bundestag election and the 2025 federal budget. The Germany ONE Vote campaign highlighted development success stories, demanded that Germany meet its 0.7% ODA target, and called for the Federal Ministry for Economic (See Sch. O)Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to remain independent rather than merge with the Federal Foreign Office. Throughout the budget discussions, ONE staff and Youth Ambassadors actively engaged with MPs and government officials to advocate for an increased BMZ budget, emphasizing the importance and impact of development cooperation and warning of the consequences of potential budget cuts.
