The overall purpose of the Outstanding Unique Responsible (O.U.R) Youth program is to secure a location to provide an after-school program for at-risk youth who live in communities that are under-resourced in high risk areas of Cook County, where students are identified as at-risk based on community, educational, social and healthy lifestyle resources and socio-economic status. O.U.R.s after-school program will help eliminate personal barriers through the after-school programming (school tutoring, mentoring, social and daily life skills development, computer/assistive technology and sports) to break those barriers that surround their communities, graduate from high school, obtain marketable job skills, demonstrate the ability to make proactive socioemotional choices and successfully pursue their higher education and career goals.
