Recuritment and Retention - Northern Vermont AHEC works to attract and retain adequate numbers of well-trained health professionals to the health care workforce in our region. We do this in three ways: 1) by participating in educational loan repayment programs for health professionals in exchange for service commitments, 2) by supporting community-based and clinical education experiences for health professions students that demonstrate the value and benefits of a rural health care practice and lifestyle, and 3) by participating in an annual survey of of practitioners in our region to determine primary care workforce needs.
