In fulfillment of its mission, Hartford HealthCare at Home, Inc., staff often goes into areas others do not serve. This requires additional staff to provide translation services to ensure patients understand their health needs. The agency also uses charitable funds to offset the difference between the cost of providing care to the indigent and the funds received from the State of Connecticut Medicaid program. On an annual basis, the difference is in excess of $1 million dollars.
