Barabaras House is a social service agency dedicated to building skills that empower our clients to overcome educational, social, and economic barriers so they can reach their full potential. BH has educational programs for elementary, middle and high school students. These include tutoring, cultural enrichment, post-secondary planning, drivers education, and social/emotional support. BH also runs a summer program which serves 30 elementary students for 7 weeks, five days a week. BH also runs a citizenship and ESL program for adults. Our senior citizen program involves individual counseling, social activities, shopping, crafts, which take place at seniors living in Greenwich Communities housing. Our Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a savings incentive program that consists of case management services for low-income families. All services are provided free of charge. We also serve young and older adults with special needs, providing social events. BH also provides food for our clients year round, but especially during the holiday season.
