Developing Radio Partners is a US-based non-profit media development organization that works with people running community based radio stations in developing countries. We provide them with the skills, content and methodologies they need to bring reliable information services on development topics to their listeners. Developing Radio Partners is dedicated to bringing information on the most important topics in development - population, climate change, health and governance - to those who are hardest to reach, using the most effective media: local radio, text messaging and various social media platforms. Developing Radio Partners, (DRP), is a solutions-oriented organization committed to building vibrant, participatory communities internationally, through the development of financially and editorially independent media services with a focus on community radio. Country by country, we build the capacity of individual radio stations, associations and programming networks by working alongside station managers, their staff and their communities to achieve local development goals that enrich people's lives. Following initial workshops, DRP provides stations with: - Weekly program e-bulletins (fact sheets) that help stations develop local, accurate, timely and useful content. - Professional good practices, helping stations produce quality content and run sustainably. - Useful technologies, such as SMS and social media platforms, aiding stations in communicating with their listeners. - Scientifically-proven interventions communities can undertake in response to environmental degradation and climate change. - Training & support for Magazine-format radio journalism, as well as podcast training and development. - Support for community events sponsored by area radio stations. - The use of various social media platforms to complement radio programs and announcements.
