HASKINS LABORATORIES IS AN INDEPENDENT, INTERNATIONAL, MULTIDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY OF RESEARCHERS CONDUCTING BASIC RESEARCH ON SPOKEN AND WRITTEN LANGUAGE. EXCHANGING IDEAS, FOSTERING COLLABORATIONS AND FORGING PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS THE SCIENCES, IT PRODUCES GROUNDBREAKING RESEARCH THAT ENHANCES OUR UNDERSTANDING OF, AND REVEALS WAYS TO IMPROVE OR REMEDIATE, SPEECH PERCEPTION AND PRODUCTION, READING AND READING DISABILITIES AND HUMAN COMMUNICATION.

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAVE APPROVED A PLAN OF DISSOLUTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF ASSETS (THE PLAN). IN CONJUNCTION WITH HASKINS LABORATORIES OVERALL PLAN, EFFECTIVE MARCH 31, 2023, HASKINS LABORATORIES AND YALE UNIVERSITY REACHED A MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING WHEREBY HASKINS LABORATORIES' EMPLOYEES WITH GRANT FUNDING WOULD MAKE FORMAL REQUESTS, INDIVIDUALLY, FOR EMPLOYMENT AND TO HAVE THEIR GRANTS TRANSFERRED TO AND ADMINISTERED BY YALE UNIVERSITY. THUS, A MAJORITY OF HASKINS LABORATORIES' RESEARCH GRANT ACTIVITY CEASED IN MARCH 2023. SUBSEQUENTLY, HASKINS LABORATORIES CONTINUED TO WIND DOWN ITS ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS, INCLUDING PAYING DOWN ANY REMAINING LIABILITIES, A FINAL DISTRIBUTION OF REMAINING ASSETS AND FINALIZE THE DISSOLUTION OF THE LABORATORY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLAN. THE NEW YORK ATTORNEY GENERAL APPROVED THE DISSOLUTION ON FEBRUARY 12, 2026.
