Class of 2024 Graduation: This year, we graduated 83 remarkable students who collectively earned over $25 million in college scholarships and grants. Preston Scholars in the Azores: Over the summer, a group of our Preston Scholars had the incredible opportunity to travel to the Azores to attend an Environmental Science in Action seminar, further expanding their academic and environmental knowledge. Golf Club:We started a Golf Club this Fall to serve as an excellent stepping stone for students who want to use golf as a way to gain both academic and professional advantages, including scholarship money. Financial Literacy and Stock Exchange Experience: Select Juniors and Seniors participated in a financial literacy workshop at the NY Stock Exchange and took part in the exciting closing bell ceremony. Rock the Street, Wall Street: A select group of Juniors attended the Rock the Street Wall Street event at Varde Partners on Madison Avenue, where they were able to engage with professionals in the finance industry. Mental Health and Networking Initiatives: We continue our partnership with The Jed Foundation (JED),which focuses on emotional health and suicide prevention for teens and young adults. Additionally, we have teamed up with Fearless+ to help our students secure internships,access workshops, and build a profile similar to LinkedIn for college recruiting. New Partnership with Wonder Girls: In January, we will begin a new partnership with Wonder Girls,a non-profit organization that focuses on building self-confidence, business skills, and promoting physical and mental health for young women. Compassion Connection: Over the past two years, our Compassion Connection group has raised well over our goal of 10,000 pounds of food to support local food pantries, demonstrating the generous spirit of our community. Cultural Thanksgiving Celebration: This years Cultural Thanksgiving was a beautiful celebration of our diversity, with students preparing and sharing various dishes and desserts from different cultures. Big Sisters/Little Sisters: Our Big Sisters and Little Sisters continued their mission of supporting younger students through tutoring and organizing fun holiday events. I Heart Radio Visit: Our Video Production class had the exciting opportunity to visit the I Heart Radio studio in Manhattan. During the trip, students recorded the voiceovers for our Open House commercials and also had the chance to meet with a panel of industry professionals. They shared valuable insights into potential career paths within the media and broadcasting fields. New Bus for Athletics: Thanks to the success of a few impressive fundraisers, the Preston Athletic Department has been able to purchase a pre-owned 25-seat van. This new addition will ensure our student-athletes have reliable transportation for their away games. Increased Open House Attendence: From 2023 to 2024, we saw a notable increase in the number of students attending our Open Houses, reflecting growing interestin our programs and campus offerings. Niche Top Schools: Preston was named to the top 25 Schools in New York this year.
