MY SISTERS' PLACE (MSP) PROVIDES SUPPORTIVE COUNSELING AND ADVOCACY SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND THEIR DEPENDENT CHILDREN. WE SUPPORT SURVIVORS THROUGH OUR 24/7 EMERGENCY HOTLINE, EMERGENCY SHELTER, DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES COLLABORATION PROGRAM, FAMILY SERVICES PROGRAM, AND CENTER FOR LEGAL SERVICES. THE FULL RANGE OF SUPPORTIVE SERVICES ARE DELIVERED IN A CLIENT-CENTERED, AND TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH. STAFF MEMBERS PRIORITIZE ONGOING PERSONALIZED SAFETY PLANNING TO ASSIST CLIENTS AS THEY MOVE BEYOND ABUSE TOWARDS STABILITY AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. DURING THIS FISCAL PERIOD, MSP SERVED A TOTAL OF 1,763 ADULT CLIENTS AND 201 CHILDREN ACROSS OUR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS. COUNSELING STAFF PROVIDED 1,917 INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS TO ADULT AND CHILD SURVIVORS.

MSPS CONFIDENTIALLY LOCATED EMERGENCY SHELTER, ASSISTED 42 ADULTS AND 38 CHILDREN ACHIEVE SAFETY WHILE THEY DISENGAGED FROM THEIR ABUSERS. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2024, ADULT AND CHILD SURVIVORS STAYED IN THE SHELTER FOR A COMBINED 6,577 BED NIGHTS. DURING THEIR STAY, SHELTER RESIDENTS WERE SUPPORTED WITH 4,344 UNITS OF SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY. IN ADDITION, MSPS 24-HOUR CRISIS HOTLINE ANSWERED 2,395 CALLS DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, CONNECTING CALLERS TO SUPPORT, INFORMATION, REFERRALS, AND GUIDANCE ON OPTIONS FOR SAFETY.

THE MY SISTERS' PLACE CENTER FOR LEGAL SERVICES (CLS) PROVIDES LEGAL SERVICES IN THE AREAS OF FAMILY AND IMMIGRATION LAW. LEGAL SERVICES INCLUDE DIRECT REPRESENTATION OF CLIENTS IN COURT, LEGAL ADVICE AND COUNSEL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE ADVOCACY TO KEEP BOTH CLIENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN SAFE. CLS STAFF ENGAGE IN EXTENSIVE OUTREACH AND TRAINING ON RELATED LEGAL TOPICS, REACHING JUDGES, LAWYERS, LAW STUDENTS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, AND OTHERS. CLS ATTORNEYS ALSO TRAIN AND MENTOR PRO BONO ATTORNEYS FROM PRIVATE SECTOR LAW FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS TO EXPAND ACCESS TO JUSTICE. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR, CLS ATTORNEYS AND ADVOCATES PROVIDED 765 FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL LEGAL CONSULATIONS, AND REPRESENTED 420 CLIENTS IN COURT.
