MEALS-ON-WHEELS OF WHITE PLAINS(MOWWP)FOUNDED IN 1979, AND ITS VOLUNTEERS HAVE BEEN DELIVERING WITHOUT INTERRUPTION MEDICALLY APPROPRIATE AND NUTRITIOUS DINNER ENTREES, COLD SUPPERS, SIDES & BEVERAGES TO OUR CLIENTS. ALL ARE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF WHITE PLAINS WHO ARE UNABLE DUE TO AGE AND/OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS TO SHOP OR COOK FOR THEMSELVES. THIS YEAR 40,212 MEALS WERE SERVED TO 163 UNDUPLICATED CLIENTS. THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF CLIENTS SERVED PER WEEK WAS BETWEEN 75-80. THE NUMBER OF ROUTES ARE SEVEN. MOWWP DELIVERS MEALS FOR 5 T0 6 DAYS PER WEEK ON A TWICE-PER-WEEK BASIS (MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS). ON DAYS OTHER THAN MONDAY AND THURSDAY, VOLUNTEERS PERFORM SOCIAL AND SAFETY CHECK TELEPHONE CALLS.
