Dance Education Program - 621 students, teachers, and administrators served directly through in-person instruction with schools with 2,797 total students & 252 total teachers and staff. The program served 27,763 individuals directly and indirectly. These programs used learning standards and NYC Department of Education ("DOE") Dance Blueprint to design sequential, interdisciplinary curricula integrating dance skills, improvisation, composition, performance, the school curricula, and dance journal writing. 1) "Partnerships in Literacy through Dance & Creativity" served 9 NYC Title I elementary public schools in 10 programs, 9 during the school day & 1 after school in 3 of NYC's 5 boroughs: Bronx, Brooklyn, & Manhattan. Schools included: Bronx: P.S. 85-Great Expectations School, Fordham; P.S. 531-Archer Street Elementary School, Parkchester; & P.S. 595-Colibri Community School, West Farms/Tremont. Brooklyn: P.S. 3-Bedford Village School, Bedford-Stuyvesant; P.S. 158 Warwick Community School, East New York; P.S. 161 The Crown School, Crown Heights; & P.S. 273 Wortman School, East New York. Manhattan: P.S. 15-Roberto Clemente School, East Village/Lower East Side & P.S. 154 Harriet Tubman Learning Center, Harlem. We conducted 1 after school program with P.S. 15. We worked directly with administrators, teachers, students, educational paraprofessionals, staff, parents and family members. Additionally, our Professional Learning Program (PLP) provided 30 hours of training: 10 hours each of seminars, methods, and project-based learning. It served 7 MDD professionals: 4 teaching artists, 1 education program staff, 1 development staff, and 1 executive. Themes included evidence-based in-person teaching and learning, assessment & evaluation, NYC public school partnership programs to sustain multi-year programs, and restorative justice. PLP occurred across our 9 partnering schools, MDD Studio Theater 310 at The Clemente Center, via Zoom, and St. Mary's Church.
