Theme: Partnership in Equipping Women and Girls with Technological Resilience, Discernment and Protection from Digital Dangers. March 3-5, 2023 - Organized WFWPI UN Advocacy Training during UN CSW67 Theme: WFWPI empowering women and girls through education and training to lead the way in securing a world of sustainable peace in the age of information technology. April 5-6, 2023 - Delivered Oral Interventions - Delivered during the Debate of the Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development. Statements delivered by WFWPI UN Representatives: Ms. Merly Barlaan, Srruthi Lekha, and Sofia Saborit4. June 17, 2023 - Participated as a speaker during the UN celebration of the International Day of African Child. Theme: The Right of the Child in the Digital Environment, hosted by United Nations African Mothers Association (UNAMA). Venue: Online. Speech delivered by Merly Barlaan5. July 18, 2023 - Organized a Side Event during the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2023). Theme: Integration and Impact of Digital Technology in developing countries in the context of the Right to Development. September 18, 2023 - Hosted the WFWPI Townhall Information Session at the sidelines of the UNGA in partnership with National Association of Federation of Filipino American Association - North East Region on the Theme: "Understanding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Venue: 4th Floor, 1600 Broadway, New York City; Participants: 50 from (international and US) UN, government, educators, private sector and CSO, women, youth leaders. May 27, 2023 - Attended the National Cameroon Day celebration hosted by the Permanent Mission of Cameroon to the United Nations.3. June 27, 2023: UNDGC Townhall Meetingwith the 77th President of General Assembly. The President of the General Assembly H.E Csaba Korosi convened his third Town Hall Meeting with Civil Society at the Trusteeship Chamber, UN HQ, New York.4. July 21, 2023: Interactive Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on African Development held at Trusteeship Chamber, UN HQ, New York. 5. August 11, 2023: Attended the commemoration of the UN International Youth Day hosted by the Permanent Mission of Malta to the UN and the President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Csaba Korosi at UN HQ New York. 6. September 16-17, 2023 - Attended the UN SDG Action Weekend & SDG Summit at UN HQ, New York. Attended by 8 WFWPI UN Representatives7. September 27, 2023: Attended as Observer to the UN General Assembly Debate at UNHQ, New York. II - B- Supported in organizing UN-related Events and programs in Geneva, and Vienna, Asia1. 2023- year-round Education program (Geneva / Online) - Created an Advocacy training program with a series of consultations for a new global team of UN Representatives, including 3 in Africa, 2 in Latin America, 1 in the Middle East and 4 in Asia Pacific. 2. 2023- year-round Education program (Geneva / Online) - Active engagement of over 300 plus youth on 2023 programs such as Youth training on UN Advocacy, Curriculum training, Human Rights Internship program, Youth Peace Conference and Youth Conference for UN CSW, Three-month Human Rights Internship programs, participants from all regions, each contributed academic advocacy journals with launching events and publication, 3 rd Youth Peace Conference : Hosted the Youth Peace Accord with the focus on the Role of Technology in Building Peace which contributed to the Social Forum 2023 at the UN in Geneva with the same theme. 3. 2023- year-round Advocacy at the UN Intergovernmental Working Group on the Right to Development and the Expert Mechanism with WFWPI interventions included in the formal reports of all sessions.4. April 27, 2023 - Collaborated as Main Lecturer for a 2-day Capacity Building training for Vice-Presidents, Deans/Directors of Student Affairs Offices, and Student Leaders' Peace Loving Global Leaders: Peace Loving Global Leaders. Hosted by The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Philippines - Dr. Jo Mark M. Libre. Venue: Bohol Island State University held at BISU Auditorium, Bohol, Philippines. Provided scholarship for certification of 10 Permaculture Lecturers, Construction of a Permaculture Training Center (Asia Pacific Peace Education Center), Partnered with Regenesis Philippines. 2. Special collaboration, mobilization, advocacy networking support for the International Association of First Ladies for Peace (IAFLP) North America - Mrs. Alexa Ward and Mrs. Cindy Pfieffer participated in various high level conferences and events throughout the year to network with First Ladies and global women peace leaders.
