OUR WORK FOCUSES ON GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN LIVING IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES WHO ARE AMONG NYC'S MOST VULNERABLE POPULATIONS. POWERPLAY PROGRAMMING IS OFFERED IN TITLE 1-FUNDED PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ALL FIVE BOROUGHS OF NYC. AT FULL CAPACITY, POWERPLAY SERVES OVER 1,000 YOUTH IN 30 SITES ACROSS NYC. OUR PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN HELP TO FILL THE GAP THROUGH A CONTINUUM OF SERVICES BEGINNING WITH GIRLS AS YOUNG AS FIVE AND INTENSIFYING AS GIRLS MATURE. WE BELIEVE NYC'S YOUNG WOMEN ARE A VALUABLE SOURCE OF TALENT AND LEADERSHIP; IN ORDER TO THRIVE, THEY NEED SAFE SPACES TO BE ACTIVE, THINK CREATIVELY, AND TALK ABOUT ISSUES THAT AFFECT THEM.
