In Africa, the IRC worked in 20 countries to respond to new and ongoing crises in each region. In East Africa-Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda-the IRC provided lifesaving aid in response to conflict, the continued war in Sudan and its impact across the region, and the effects of climate change, particularly severe drought. In West and Central Africa-Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone- the IRC responded with critical services to some of the most acute and protracted humanitarian crises on the continent. In Libya, IRC continues to support protection and other key services to people migrating through the North African country, as well as for conflict-affected Libyans. As part of IRC's Who We Serve & Where We Work mission alignment criteria, by the end of FY25, IRC successfully closed our operations in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

IRC U.S. programs served 226,105 clients and provided virtual information. Through a network of 29 cities across the country, the IRC's Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) U.S. department ensured that vulnerable newcomers have the resources and tools they need to build new lives in America. RAI U.S. has a diverse portfolio of programs aimed at five core outcomes: health, safety, economic wellbeing, education, and power. Staff and volunteers work together to resettle newly arrived refugees, facilitating food, shelter, and other basic needs during the pivotal first months in the U.S. To promote self-reliance over the long term, RAI U.S. also offers English language classes, vocational training, and job placement activities, as well as specialized services for unaccompanied minors, asylees, survivors of torture, human trafficking, and other forms of trauma. RAI U.S. provides comprehensive legal services to help refugees and other immigrants become permanent residents and U.S. citizens, and supports a variety of programs designed to help new arrivals.

IRC's advisors delivered specialized and contextualized guidance in sectors including Economic Recovery and Development, Health, Education, and Violence Prevention and Response as well as support from the Monitoring, Evaluation, Technology, Accountability, and Learning (METAL) unit. The IRC maintained support services for financial, logistical, people & culture, security, IT and administration to all country programs and advanced Gender Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion across the organization, as well as advancing our research & innovation initiatives. Finally, the IRC's Emergency Response team continued targeted support Ukraine, the occupied Palestinian territories and Haiti, and offered surge capacity and expertise to IRC teams across the globe for their emergency responses.
