PROGRAMS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND REHABILITATION ARE FUNDED THROUGH COOPERATIVE SPONSORSHIPS WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, BOTH NOT-FOR-PROFIT AND FOR-PROFIT, OR BY INTERNALLY DIRECTED FUNDS. FUNDING CONSISTS OF GRANTS, CASH DONATIONS, IN- KIND DONATIONS OF SERVICES AND MATERIALS, SALE OF PROMOTIONAL MERCHANDISE AND ORGANIZATION-DIRECTED FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES. PROSPECTIVE HOMEOWNERS ARE EVALUATED BY A BOARD-APPOINTED SELECTION COMMITTEE AND ARE REQUIRED TO MEET SPECIFIC FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL CRITERIA.
