CNY WORKS, INC. PROVIDES WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO THE CENTRAL NEW YORK COMMUNITY AND SERVES AS THE LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (LWDB) FOR THE ONONDAGA COUNTY LOCAL AREA. CNY WORKS STRIVES TO ATTRACT, DEVELOP, AND RETAIN A WORKFORCE THAT WILL SUPPORT ECONOMIC PROSPERITY FOR ONONDAGA COUNTY, THE CENTRAL NEW YORK REGION AND NEW YORK STATE. AT THE STRATEGIC LEVEL, CNY WORKS FUNCTIONS AS THE APOLITICAL CONVENER OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION, WORKFORCE AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS TO DEFINE WORKFORCE SYSTEM GOALS; SUPPORT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE WORKFORCE SUPPLY; AND CULTIVATE LOCAL AND REGIONAL ECONOMIC GROWTH.
