Heartland Youth Choir provided choral music education, performance opportunities, and character development to 160 singers ages 4-18 in our year-round programming of 6 choir levels. Through our clinics, hosted festivals, and outreach programming we worked directly with an additional 200 singers across Iowa. HYC performed at 5 self-produced concerts, and at 9 other musical events across Iowa and the USA. These included community holiday events, national anthem performances, and free concerts at local schools. Our ensembles traveled to Kansas City collaborating with 3 schools, 2 children's choirs, and 1 retirement community. Older singers travelled to New York City columinating in a performance at Carnegie Hall. The total number of audience members across all of these performances is estimated at 5,000 individuals, with several coming to multiple events.
