The Foundation's mission is to offer student teaching opportunities to college students majoring in education and to develop after-school programs. The Foundation contracts with elementary, junior high, and high schools and others to provide teaching fellows for after-school education and tutoring. Approximately 4,000 teaching fellows helped over 50,000 students each month at school sites during the current fiscal year. The Foundation generates revenue from service fees for operating programs at school sites and contracts with other service providers for program content and program evaluation. The Foundation is supported primarily by fees for services and grants and contributions. The Foundation's program is primarily conducted in (but is not limited to) Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare, Sacramento and Merced counties.
