CELEBRATE THE BEAT

Eagle County: CTB uniquely brings schools and communities together through the arts, helping students develop a personal standard of excellence. Our in-school classes include every child in a grade, regardless of physical, emotional, or learning differences. Classes last 45 minutes and are taught during the regular school day, underscoring our belief that the arts are as valuable as every other subject. Students from grades 3, 4 and 5 participated in CTB dance classes, accompanied by live music, for our one week Feel the Beat intensive. Each class was taught by two professional teaching artists/dancers and accompanied by a live musicianan element that sets CTB apart from other in-school dance programs.Every residency culminated in a public performance, where students joyfully share what theyve learned with the community. These highly professional performances are choreographed and accompanied by a full band, showcasing the impressive amount of learning achieved. Classroom teachers actively participate in classes and are encouraged to join the final performance alongside their students.In 202425, CTB reached more children in Eagle County than the previous year, due to the bold step of taking back ownership of the program from the Vail Valley Foundation, serving approximately 475 students during the school day.

Summit County Expansion:In our second year of programming in Summit County, we were met with tremendous enthusiasm in the three schools we worked within. Two programs were 12 weeks (classes once a week for 12 weeks), the other was our Feel the Beat, one week intensive. In addition to the class-wide program, CTB offered after-school instruction for dancers from participating classes who wanted to challenge themselves further. These students attended additional 90-minute DREAM Team (Dancers Reaching Excellence, Artistry, and Mastery) classes after school where they received more complex instruction.
