Rianda House, the only Senior Center in Northern Napa County, serves the cities and unincorporated areas of Yountville, St. Helena, Calistoga, Angwin, Pope, Valley, and Berryessa Estates. The organization is supported by a dedicated team of seven board members, three full-time staff, four part-time staff, and 27 part time instructors.For many older adults in Northern Napa County, Rianda House is a shelter in a storm. It's a place where people step back from the roller coaster of current events and ground themselves in our shared humanity. It is truly exceptional! One has to experience it firsthand to fully grasp its uniqueness. Rianda House provides an environment of authentic inclusivity and support for older adults. We provide community, belonging, and inspiration, all while providing an opportunity to bring fitness (physical and mental), continued education through arts, music and language, and the exploration of a new passion into the lives of our residents.Rianda House is free to all. There are no fees, no memberships, and no contracts. This removes the financial barrier for those who most need our services. 40% of our participants have household incomes under $50,000 a year and two-thirds have household incomes under $75,000 a year. Nearly all of our funding comes from the generosity of individuals donors, who supply 85% of our income. Over the past three years, we have experienced dramatic growth, from 6,408 visits in 2022 to 18,270 visits in 2025. We serve over 1500 unique participants each year, offering an average of 175 events every month. These include: in person and online classes, workshops, counseling sessions, group, discussions, language instruction (ESL), congregate, dining, concerts, lectures, exercise, music, and off-site activities, such as hikes in the surrounding area. As the population ages, our services are becoming increasingly vital.Rianda house is a trusted resource for seniors in crisis. Because of our close partnerships with the city, county, state, and other nonprofits, we are experts at the hand-off. We disseminate life-saving information to those in crisis: medical services, financial aid, and legal assistance, to name a few. The wide array of services can be overwhelming. We make it easy.Rianda House advocates for older adults in Northern Napa County by contributing weekly articles to the Saint Helena Star and by communicating with our mailing list of 2300 senior adults.We love to give personal tours of Rianda House.
