RACE EVENTS INCLUDE THE FOOTLOOSE FREEDOM MILE, A ONE ONE MILE RACE THAT TAKE PLACE BEFORE THE START OF THE 4TH OF JULY PARADE IN MAMMOTH LAKES AND THE TURKEY TROT IN THE FALL. THE ORGANIZATION IS HOST TO OVER 1,000 RUNNERS AND RACERS COMPRISED OF RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO THE RESORT COMMUNITY OF MAMMOTH LAKES, CALIFORNIA.

THE ASSOCIATION IS A CHAPTER OF THE ROAD RUNNERS CLUB OF AMERICA. IT PRESENTS WEEKLY COACHING CLINICS TO MEMBER RUNNERS RANGING FROM BEGINNERS TO EXPERIENCED ENDURANCE ATHLETES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES LECTURES AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, DEMONSTRATIONS AND MEMBER MOTIVATIONAL EVENTS AND AWARDS. THROUGH COACHING AND EDUCATION, THE ORGANIZATION HELPS MOTIVATE RUNNERS TO DEVELOP A PERSONAL FITNESS PROGRAM AND TO PREPARE FOR COMPETITIVE EVENTS SAFELY. THE MAMMOTH TRACK CLUB SERVES OVER 60 MEMBERS IN THE MAMMOTH LAKES COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES RUNNING TRAINING AND COACHING TO LOCAL SCHOOL CHILDREN DURING THE SUMMER. IN ADDITION THE ORGANIZATION SOLICITS THE MAMMOTH HIGH SCHOOL RUNNING TEAMS TO HELP/VOLUNTEER AT THEIR EVENTS. IN RETURN THE ORGANIZATIONS WILL MAKE "DONATIONS" TO THEIR BOOSTER CLUB SO THEY CAN TRAVEL TO THEIR RACES DURING THE SEASON. RACE FEES TO RUNNING STUDENTS ARE ALSO WAIVED.
