Activities supported included: adaptation of a 10-year strategic plan; monitoring and management of the metapopulation of Golden Lion Tamarins, including vaccination against yellow-fever; forest restoration and protection; monitoring use of wildlife passages over highways; building capacity of local land-owners to generate forest-friendly income; environmental education for local communities; development of a plan for ecotourism benefiting Golden Lion Tamarins and their habitat; institutional sustainability of the Associacao Mico Leao Dourado; and promoting education about Golden Lion Tamarin conservation in Zoos around the world.
