THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDS TO INDIVIDUALS THROUGH THE OFFICER DEATH BENEFIT PROGRAM IF A TEXAS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY, THE FOUNDATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE DELIVERS A CHECK TO THE SURVIVING SPOUSE, CHILDREN OR PARENTS. NO APPLICATION PROCESS IS USED, ONLY THE NOTIFICATION OF A QUALIFYING DEATH AND APPROPRIATE PERSON TO WHOM THE CHECK IS MADE OUT. THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF ANY ASSOCIATION. THE DONATION IS TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE FUNDS TO A FAMILY IN TIME OF CRISIS.
