MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF LOUISVILLE (MSL) IS A PRIVATE, INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT SCHOOL IN LOUISVILLE, KY. MSL IS THE ONLY SACS/ADVANCED - ACCREDITED MONTESSORI PROGRAM IN LOUISVILLE SERVING CHILDREN 18 MONTHS TO GRADE 8. MSL IS FOUNDED ON BEST PRACTICES IN MONTESSORI EDUCATION, UTILIZING THE RICH PEDAGOGY OF MONTESSORI EDUCATION WHICH RESONATES WITH CURRENT PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH. OUR TODDLER AND EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS SERVE CHILDREN 18 MONTHS THROUGH 6 YEARS. IN A SAFE, CARING, DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE ENVIRONMENT, CHILDREN ARE ENCOURAGED TO EXPLORE AND ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES THAT DEVELOP THEIR INDEPENDENCE AND FOSTER SOCIAL AWARENESS. THROUGH THEIR "WORK" CHILDREN ARE INTRODUCED EARLY TO AN ACADEMIC CURRICULUM THAT DEVELOP EARLY READING AND WRITING SKILLS. UPON COMPLETION OF A THREE-YEAR CYCLE, OUR STUDENTS ARE NOT ONLY FLUENT READERS, BUT ALSO HAVE HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN ALL FOUR MATH OPERATIONS AND A RICH KNOWLEDGE IN WORLD CULTURES.
