PROVIDING MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH KNOWN CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE (DISEASES OF THE HEART AND BLOOD VESSELS). EDUCATIONAL FORMATS WILL BE MULTIFACETED INCLUDING LECTURE SERIES BY LOCAL AND NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SPECIALISTS, PATIENT SUPPORT GROUPS AND SPECIAL "HOW-TO" COURSES (FOOD PREPARATION SHOPPING COURSES, ETC.). EDUCATIONAL SERIES WILL BE HELD ATLEAST QUARTERLY. THE RESEARCH ASPECT OF THE INSTITUTE WILL CONSIST OF EVALUATING THE CLINICAL OUTCOMES OF INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATING IN THE CLINICAL PROGRAMS. PROSPECTIVE AND RETROSPECTIVE STUDIES WILL BE DESIGNED AS WELL. THE JAM INSTITUTE PROPOSES TO CREATE A STATE-OF-THE-ART RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM, BASED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
