Building relationships across religious and racial lines was the focus of our program. A total of 365 individuals took part in a 3-month relationship-building initiative. The process included training hosts to facilitate house meetings which took place in private homes or congregations. In total 45 house meetings were conducted with an average of 8.1 attendees per meeting. During these gatherings hosts led discussions where participants shared personal stories about community issues affecting themselves their families and friends. Participants were prompted to discuss the most pressing community problem and share anecdotes related to housing costs. These narratives offered insights into the communitys challenges. Throughout the year leaders maintained and nurtured relationships at organizational events and independently. Moreover our staff engaged in over 700 one-on-one conversations to further solidify these relationships.
