THE ORGANIZATION'S GRANTS PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED TO ENRICH EDUCATION IN THE KALISPELL PUBLIC SCHOOLS SYSTEM. IT IS DESIGNED TO PUT MONEY DIRECTLY INTO THE HANDS OF CLASSROOM TEACHERS, HELPING EDUCATORS TAKE IDEAS FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHING STRATEGIES AND MAKE THEM A REALITY. WE SUPPORTED 4,800 STUDENTS THROUGH 42 CLASSROOM GRANTS. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PUT MONEY DIRECTLY INTO THE HANDS OF CLASSROOM TEACHERS, HELPING EDUCATORS TAKE IDEAS FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHING STRATEGIES AND MAKE THEM A REALITY. WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE AN AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM TO BOTH OF OUR LARGE HIGH SCHOOLS. IT PROVIDES 1-3 STAFF MEMBERS TO BE AVAILABLE FOR TUTORING THREE DAYS A WEEK DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR AT EACH SCHOOL . THE PRIMARY AREAS OF SUPPORT ARE SCIENCE, MATH, AND SPECIAL EDUCATION. THIS PROGRAM SERVES BETWEEN 5-10 STUDENTS PER DAY THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. SIX STAFF MEMBERS WERE HONORED THROUGH OUR EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD PROGRAM, WHICH GIVES COMMUNITY MEMBERS, PARENTS, AND STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO NOMINATE THEIR FAVORITE TEACHER TO WIN 1,000 FOR THEIR CLASSROOM AND 250 IN GIFT CERTIFICATES. WE RECEIVED 955 SUBMISSIONS. THREE TEACHERS WERE AWARDED THE PRIZE HIGH SCHOOL, MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AS WELL AS THE ADDITION OF THREE SUPPORT STAFF WHO EACH RECEIVED 250 IN GIFT CERTIFICATES. WE ALSO SHARED THE SUBMISSIONS WITH THE NOMINATED STAFF AS A PART OF TEACHER APPRECIATION. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS OVER 800 STAFF MEMBERS THROUGH OUR TEACHER APPRECIATION PROGRAM. BOARD MEMBERS DELIVER SNACKS AND MESSAGES OF APPRECIATION THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE HOSTED AN ANNUAL RECEPTION FOR THE YEARS GRANT RECIPIENTS. KEF BOARD MEMBERS, KALISPELL SCHOOLS ADMINISTRATORS, KALISPELL SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, AND MAJOR CORPORATE SPONSORS WERE INVITED TO THE EVENT ALONG WITH THE GRANT RECIPIENTS. THE INTENTION OF THE EVENT IS TO CELEBRATE THE GRANT RECIPIENTS, NOT TO RAISE FUNDS, AND NO FUNDS WERE SOLICITED DURING THE EVENT.
