UCSRB coordinates implementation of the Upper Columbia Spring Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Plan for the purpose of restoring and preserving habitat for salmonids listed under the Endangered Species Act in the upper portion of the Columbia River. This work is accomplished through: 1partners implementing restoration and protection projects in the Upper Columbia Region with direct and leveraged funding; 2 science and policy initiatives that inform federal state local and tribal agency partners as well as NGO and agency project sponsors to assist with project planning prioritization and development; and 3 facilitation of the North Central Washington Forest Health Collaborative an effort of diverse forest stakeholders working with the U.S. Forest Service USFS to accelerate restoration on regional USFS-managed lands.
