Provide an electronic platform to promote democracy, freedom of information, freedom of expression and freedom of publication in China. Stimulate uncensored debates and discussions among Chinese scholars, students, professionals and dissidents about how to best facilitate a peaceful reform in China to reform China into a more open, pluralized and democratic society. Inform Chinese intellectuals and general public on the democratic theories and practice in other democratic countries. Provide honorariums to authors whose articles have been published on Democratic China Electronic Journal. Majority of our authors live in mainland China and many of them have lost their jobs for their roles in advocating democracy and freedom of expression. Our honorariums to these authors may somewhat offset their lost income because of their outspoken on democracy and political reform.
