Mission

In 2023, Push to Walk served 86 different clients for a total of 5,541 individual sessions for a total of 7,190 client hours, 6,715 one- on-one workouts, 31.5 initial evaluations and 444 sessions with FES stimulation. Staffing included 7 trainers and 10 aides/student interns over the course of the year. Administrative staff included a part-time Executive Director,a full- time Operations Director, a part-time Development Assistant,a part- time Bookkeeper, a part-time Grant Writer and a part-time Client and Event Coordinator. In 2023, the Executive Director (ED) served her first full year in the role and was responsible for scoping out space for the planned move out of current location in December 2023/January 2024. The ED expanded Push to Walks relationship with William Paterson University and their Exercise Science Program for student observations and intern placements. Federal Funds were secured through the Congressional Spending Budget to purchase 2 exoskeleton robotic devices for use with our clients.

In 2023, grants from corporate and private foundations were received to assist with operational costs and fund specific needs like continuing education, equipment and scholarship funds for clients. Equipment manufacturers provided specific training on certain devices, leading to higher and better use with clients. Client scholarships were provided to those clients with financial challenges and the Board Scholarship Committee providing oversight to the process. As the Covid recovery process continued to take shape,the number of clients and client hours continued to grow but still remained lower than pre-Covid numbers over the course of 2023.
