THE CENTER HAS THREE PROGRAMS. PRECONCEPTION RECESSIVE GENE TESTING, BRCA AND HEREDITARY CANCER REFERRAL PROGRAM AND THE BRCA POSITIVE SUPPORT GROUP, BRCATEERS. ALL THREE PROGRAMS ARE STAFFED WITH VOLUNTEER MEDICAL STAFF AS WELL AS A NETWORK OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN AFFLICTED BY THE MUTATIONS THAT ARE WILLING TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OTHERS. THE PRECONCEPTION PROGRAM TESTS COUPLES THAT ARE OF REPRODUCTIVE AGE TO ENSURE THAT THEY DONT CARRY GENE MUTATIONS THAT MAY BE PASSED ON TO THEIR OFFSPRING. THIS PROGRAM HAS A NOMINAL COST FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE TEST KITS, BUT ALL OTHER COSTS ARE BORNE BY EITHER INSURANCE OR THE CENTER.
