Mangrove: 2023 was the last year for the implementation of the project Mangrove that AHAMES has been working on since 2021. For this period of implementation AHAMES was able to continue educating the population of the role mangroves play in C02 emission and the reduction of global warming in the protection of the habitat for the crustaceous and the fish for their reproduction. Various economic activities were introduced as an alternative to cutting mangroves to make charcoal as a source of revenue. For the period of performance of this project more than 8,750 families were directly and positively impacted by the project and the indirect benefits to the population has surpassed more than 100,000 people. At the end of the project on December 2023 The funding partners in accordance with Malteser International have decided to extend the period of performance of the project for an additional year due to the implementation success AHAMES was able to achieve and at the request of the population who has seen tangible improvement in their economic condition.

Food Security: In 2023 AHAMES continues to work on the Food Security contract signed with Malteser International since June of 2020. This project had a lifespan of three years to be completed by June 2023. This project was implemented in the rural communities of Cite Soleil Belle Anse Petit Trou de Nippes and Baraderes. All the goals set forth by the project were met at the satisfaction of the partner organization financing the project as stated and described in the prior Form 990 submitted. The success in the execution of this project has led the Financing organization in collaboration with Malteser International to duplicate the execution of the same Food Security Project in other rural communities and the signing of a new contract with AHAMES for another three years starting on December 2023 to Novembre 2026.

Bureau Conjoint: In 2023 AHAMES has worked on several project for the Joint Office DKH NCA FLM RMC One of those projects was to improve Food Security in Earthquake Affected Communities in the South of Haiti by adopting a human rights based approach. This project started on November 2022 and was completed on March 2033. AHAMES has also worked on the project Entitled Building Resilient Communities Through Climate WASH services and Sustainable Livelihoods in the big south of Haiti. The period of performance for this project was from July 2023 to February 2024. The third project the organization has worked on for the Joint Office is the project entitled Contributing to the resilience of Rights Holders especially Women Climate resilient WASH services and Climate Smart Economic Empowerment by adopting a human rights-based approach. This project started on August 2023 and ended on December 2023. The fourth project AHAMES has worked on for the Joint Bureau was entitled: Sustainable Access to Safe Drinking Water Sanitation and Hygiene for Schools in Southern Haiti. All of those projects were being implemented to benefit the population of many rural areas by reinforcing or creating the necessary infrastructure needed in those communities to improve their lives educate the stakeholders and empower the locals to improve their economic conditions by distributing livestocks hygienic kits disaster preparedness and agricultural tools equipments and supplies
