The year saw the Hopewell Museum take significant steps in the preservation and conservation of both its varied collections and the structure itself. Wendy Jessup was brought in to help guide the conservation of the museum's approximately 2,000-piece textile collection, working on this project from June 2024 to May 2025. Some of these items go back to the 18th century. This year also saw both the museum's large ceramics and glass collection identified, cataloged, and boxed by our board members, volunteers, and staff. The museum continued to jointly host programming with community partners, such as the Hopewell Valley Historical Society and the Hopewell Library, including Hopewell Valley Heritage Week in May 2024. From October to November, Ian Burrow, along with an intern, assisted in further work to identify our early tool collection. The fruits of this work were shown off at our open house in December. Lastly, the museum continued to move the collection offsite ahead of the renovation of the structure slated to begin in the early fall of 2025.
