North Haven Historical Society (NHHS) maintains the North Island Museum, containing a replica of a turn-of-the-century parlor, kitchen and bed chamber with an open gallery. In two outbuildings, there are displays of farm implements and small boats. In addition, NHHS houses its collection of archival materials in a separate climate-controlled archives building. The collection consists of town ledgers, town meeting records, old deeds and letters, and historical photographs, slides and scrapbooks donated to the museum.
Each year, NHHS brings history to life by hosting programs, talks and exhibits that feature local artists or past town events of historical nature.
