Peaceworks mission is to support grassroots community organizations in Nicaragua as they work to overcome a history of poverty, violence against women and environmental destruction. In 2025, Peaceworks delivered $155,750 in cash grants to partners in Nicaragua. The following support was provided to our partners to further their work. 1) $81,200 was given for the Inhijambia's program for street children at risk due to drug abuse, homelessness and domestic violence in Managua. The program provides shelter, food, counseling and education to the children. Of the this amount, $59,610 was used to support salaries and operations, $20,540 was used to provide education funds for the young girls and boys in the program and $1,050 was designated to buy computers for Inhijambia's education programs. 2) $38,750 was given to our partners Green Empowerment, AVODEC, and Fedicamp to help construct new water supply systems for Los Corozales, Parasaito and Pavona Central, poor rural villages in Northern Nicaragua. 3) $17,800 was given to the Rural Women Development group for support for its programs for women recovering from domestic violence and developing small business in rural areas. This group provides counseling and to support livestock purchases and micro- business support for women in the Masaya, Nicaragua area. 5) $6,000 was given to the La Chispa De Vida program of the La Tierra/Mariposa organization in Nicaragua, that provides education, food, and physical therapy for children with disabilities. 6) $3,500 was given to the El Porvenir Coffee Collective for vehicle repairs and support to help this struggling coffee-growing rural community. 7) $3,000 was given to the Juan Vernado Palo De Oro Turtle Project, which fosters the propagation and restoration of endangered sea turtles on the Nicaragua Pacific Coast. 8) $5,000 was given to the Quixote Center to support the CacaoNica project in northern Nicaragua, which involves rural farmers starting a cacao business. 9) $ 500 to local community organizations in New Jersey
