Through AMCP Foundation's immersive internships, student pharmacists gain knowledge of health plans, pharmacy benefit management companies, employer sites, the biopharmaceutical industry, non-profit organizations, and other groups. In 2024, eleven student pharmacists completed internships ranging from 10 weeks to 6 months in partnership with the AMCP Foundation and grantor companies. These emerging leaders learned managed care pharmacy concepts such as health equity, formularies, benefit design, medication therapy management, and adherence. All interns completed a capstone research project, which introduced them to evidence-based decision-making methodologies and principles of health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics.
