THE SOCIETY RECEIVED A 250,000 INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIP COST REIMBURSEMENT GRANT FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD TO SUPPORT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES IN THE ENGINEERING SECTOR. 188,285 WAS REIMBURSED IN THE CURRENT YEAR. GRANT FUNDS ARE USED TO COORDINATE INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS, PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND COACHING, AND SUPPORT PROGRAM STAFFING, TRAINING ACTIVITIES, AND OPERATIONAL COSTS DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN THE REGIONAL ENGINEERING WORKFORCE AND ALIGN EDUCATION AND TRAINING WITH IN-DEMAND INDUSTRY NEEDS.
