THE YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF CARLISLE, PENNSYLVANIA IS DEDICATED TO ELIMINATING RACISM, EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS AND PROMOTING PEACE, JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND DIGNITY FOR ALL. YWCAS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE DISTINGUISHED BY PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON THESE MISSION PILLARS. LAST YEAR, THE AGENCY PROVIDED MISSION-FOCUSED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO 10,126 MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN WITH THE HELP OF 130 VOLUNTEERS. THE AGENCY'S ADVOCACY COMMITTEE'S EFFORTS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF ELIMINATING RACISM AND EMPOWERING WOMEN ISSUES RESULT IN EARNED MEDIA, DISPLAYS AND PROMOTION WITHIN THE COMMUNITY, COLLABORATION WITH PARTNERS SUCH AS THE LOCAL LIBRARY AND NEARBY COLLEGES, PUSHING VOTER REGISTRATION TO RESIDENTS, FACILITY LOBBY EDUCATIONAL DISPLAYS AND MUCH MORE CENTERED AROUND THESE TWO MISSION THEMES.
