LASP IS THE ONLY FULL-SERVICE LEGAL AID PROGRAM SERVING BUCKS, CHESTER, DELAWARE, AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES IN PA. ITS ADVOCACY PROTECTS BASIC NECESSITIES INCLUDING SHELTER, MEDICAL CARE, INCOME, PERSONAL SAFETY AND FAMILY STABILITY. IN FY25, LASP ADVOCATES HANDLED 10,053 CASES THAT BENEFITED 20,769 ADULTS AND CHILDREN. IN FY25, LASP 1) INCREASED SAFETY FOR 1,614 ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH 718 PROTECTION ORDERS; 2) PRESERVED HOUSING FOR 1,383 ADULTS AND CHILDREN; 3) OBTAINED BENEFITS FOR UNHOUSED VETERANS THAT INCREASED THEIR EXPECTED LIFETIME INCOME BY $44.6 MILLION; 4) OBTAINED $485 MILLION IN EXPECTED SSDI AND SSI LIFETIME BENEFITS FOR ADULTS; 5) EXPUNGED 412 CRIMINAL RECORD EXPUNGEMENTS AND REMOVED THESE BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION AND HOUSING.
