The annual Steuben Parade in New York City is the largest venue and contribution of Americans of German decent that fulfills the mission statement of the committee. Each year a celebration of song, music, dance, literature, sports and folkloric activities are all represented at this parade.
Parade festivals confirm the mission to hold a parade, what it stands for and represents. The festival selects a queen of the parade, Miss German-American, and a rally for parade marchers.
Parade banquets are held the evening before the parade. Guests from the United States and Germany make speeches and are honored by the community.
