THE COALITION HAS SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDED PROGRAMMING : (1) TO EDUCATE AND INFORM LAWMAKERS, OUR MEMBERS, AND THE PUBLIC REGARDING ALL ASPECTS OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET PROCESS THAT MAY HAVE AN IMPACT ON PUBLIC HEALTH AND HEALTH RESEARCH; AND (2) TO ADVOCATE FOR SUFFICIENT AND SUSTAINED DISCRETIONARY FUNDING FOR THE U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE, INCLUDING STRONG AND SUSTAINED FUNDING FOR A CONTINUUM OF BIOMEDICAL, BEHAVIORAL AND HEALTH SERVICES, RESEARCH, PUBLIC HEALTH DETECTION AND RESPONSE, COMMUNITY-BASED PREVENTION STRATEGIES, HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR THE MEDICALLY NEEDY AND THE EDUCATION OF THE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL WORKFORCE.
