In 1895 a group of women who were descendants of revolutionary patriots were granted national charter 155 by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and became the Rainier Chapter of the NSDAR. Their mission is to support the platform of the NSDAR to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. In order to further opportunities locally in support of this mission, the members of the Rainier Chapter raised funds to purchase property and build the Rainier Chapter House, which opened in 1925. Since that time, the Rainier Chapter House has been used for events to support NSDAR goals, serving as the venue for weddings, corporate events, galas, and educational forums.
