CONSTITUTION HALL WAS ALSO THE SITE OF THE WRITING OF THE LECOMPTON CONSTITUTION. THE LECOMPTON CONSTITUTION WAS A PRO-SLAVERY DOCUMENT THAT SPARKED A CHAIN OF EVENTS THAT DIVIDED THE NATION AND EVENTUALLY CAUSED THE CIVIL WAR.
