Cinnabar Theater, now in its 51st year of enhancing the cultural fabric of the Bay area, produces a wide range of performing arts that are relevant and challenging to audiences and artists alike in an intimate (111 seat) environment. Located in the southern Sonoma County city of Petaluma, Cinnabar produces six shows per season, typically: one musical, four straight plays (comedies, dramas both classics and new works) and one opera. In addition, Cinnabar has a robust and vibrant young performing arts division. Young Repertory teaches and trains young people in the performing arts to enrich and develop future artists and audiences. The Young Rep classes and performances take place in a working, professional theater. Youth work one-on-one and in groups with performing arts educators, all of whom work professionally as musicians, actors, singers and dancers. In the 2022-23 season, over 1,000 students atended Young Rep classes and perform in four mainstage shows. And, over 200 students atended the two 2023 summer camps and performed in the summer camp production of Rock of Ages. Young Rep reaches out to all areas of the community and provides tuition scholarships to 10% of its students. Incoming revenue for these programs (tuition) was $222,000.
