ANIMAL CARE - THE SHELTER IS THE FOCAL POINT OF ALL SPCA SERVICES FOR ANIMAL SHELTER, CARE AND ADOPTIONS.1,041 ANIMALS WERE ADOPTED TO NEW HOMES. 198 ANIMALS WERE RETURNED TO THEIR OWNERS. 751 ANIMALS WERE SPAYED OR NEUTERED AND MICROCHIPPED THROUGH THE SPCA PROGRAM, WHICH INCLUDES PROVIDING 484 FINANCIAL VOUCHERS FOR SPAYING AND NEUTERING SERVICES THAT WERE ISSUED TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME OWNERS.651 CATS WERE TRAPPED, NEUTERED AND RELEASED IN THE TNR PROGRAM.THE JOYCE HERSHBERGER MEDICAL FUND LOAN PROGRAM PROVIDED ZERO-INTEREST LOANS FOR URGENT VETERINARY CARE FOR PETS OF LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS. 39 LOANS TOTALING MORE THAN $7,900 WERE GRANTED IN 2023.
