In fiscal year 2025, Make-A-Wish removed a mortorium on all international travel and cruise wishes which typically account for about 40 wishes a year. The chapter was able to grant 489 wishes in the fiscal year ending August 31, 2025. Wishes included 47 gift wishes,49 shopping sprees, 226 trips to a Disney resort, 10 play sets or playhouses,41 celebrity wishes, 46 trips to Hawaii,66 trips to a variety of locations. Unique wishes include Lilys wish to visit Williamsburg, VA, Morgans wish for an African Grey Parrot, Jordans wish to meet Jelly Roll, Mayas wish for a wheelchair-accessible backyard makeover, Francis wish to camp at Yosemite and Paisleys wish for a new piano and braille piano music books. Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia has met or exceeded all benchmarks of excellence set forth by its national organization, Make-A-Wish America. These include liquidity, wish growth, wish turnaround, cost per dollar raised and public support growth. The chapter has placed at the top of chapter performance for the last 20+ years. in its category (Large Chapters). Because of its management excellence, the chapter has been given five additional territories to manage by Make-A-Wish America, the first in 2000. The chapter is now helping to plan and finance wishes at other chapters with large wish pipelines to help reduce the wait time for wish chidren and their families.
